Trade fair

  The trade fair was very interesting, and it was fun to see other prototypes. Our application was calendar+ and maybe our prototype was not the best but the project was good. Overall, we got good feedback from the trade fair. People liked our application although our application was in the early stages. We also got some negative feedback or critique, but it is understandable because compared to others our prototype was not so colorful, but our presentation was good great, and people liked it. Overall people found our speech effective. 11 said that it was very effective and 16 said it was somewhat effective. So, I can say that most of them liked our presentation. I’m glad that people liked our presentation because maybe that was the best part of our presentation. Our product was good but not as good as our presentation. Third blog post

Welcome to my third blog post. Today I will talk about the book t hat I have been reading. The name of the book is “ The elements of user experience ” . The book is about web development and web design and how to design web pages that they would be user friendly .   The book is divided into 8 chapters and the main points are between chapter 2 and chapter 7. In these chapters the author Jesse James Garrett talks about elements of user experience. There are five elements of user experience and they are important when you design web pages.    I chose this book because i t looked and sounded very interesting and I know user experience knowledge is very important for my career. I liked it because I learned something new about we b design but sometimes it was hard to read because the text was technical. Second blog post

  Welcome to my second blog post. Today I will talk about our team ’ s software development and how we will develop our program.   When we started our planning p hase, we had a clear idea what we wanted from the program. We wanted an application that students and teachers could use , and the application would easier their everyday life at the university. The application is calendar system where you can list your tasks and also check menus from the university restaurants.    One of our challenges is coding the application. We have smart people on our team so we can develop the app by ourselves , but I can say it will be challenging. When we start to code, first we need to do the user interface and then we can start coding the functionality of the application. For that we need multiple different classes and inheritance between classes to get to application work. Also we need database for the user information and for the food on the restaurant menus. W...

First blog post

  Welcome to my first blog post. Today I will write how I became interested in computer science and tell you about my programming project.   I became interested in computer science because my cousin started studying it when I was in seventh grade. I have always been fascinated about computers and when I was at seventh grade, I build my own first computer and th at’s wher e it all started. After upper secondary school I decided to take year off from studying but someh ow, I started studying computer science at U niversity of Eastern Finland and after first year there I moved to Oulu and continued my studies here.    I have learned some technical skills from my previous studies that can help others for example I have been coding for a while so I can help my classmates .
