Third blog post

Welcome to my third blog post. Today I will talk about the book that I have been reading. The name of the book is “The elements of user experience”. The book is about web development and web design and how to design web pages that they would be user friendly. 

The book is divided into 8 chapters and the main points are between chapter 2 and chapter 7. In these chapters the author Jesse James Garrett talks about elements of user experience. There are five elements of user experience and they are important when you design web pages.  

I chose this book because it looked and sounded very interesting and I know user experience knowledge is very important for my career. I liked it because I learned something new about web design but sometimes it was hard to read because the text was technical. There were difficult terms which I had not heard of, and this made reading difficult.  

This book was interesting because user experience is not only useful at web development but in other industries as well. For example, you need to have feedback from users when they use self-checkout at markets and that’s why they usually have feedback systems at the shop. I liked the book because there were also photos how to design something and how to plan something with your team and prototypes are very important part of planning. It made the book easier to read.  

This book could help our team members planning the application from our customers’ perspective. We can also utilize this information to make prototype from our application because this book has a lot of information about strategy phase and the surface phase (graphical user interface). As a whole this book was good and I learned something new about user experience and planning graphical user interfaces.
