First blog post

 Welcome to my first blog post. Today I will write how I became interested in computer science and tell you about my programming project. 

I became interested in computer science because my cousin started studying it when I was in seventh grade. I have always been fascinated about computers and when I was at seventh grade, I build my own first computer and that’s where it all started. After upper secondary school I decided to take year off from studying but somehow, I started studying computer science at University of Eastern Finland and after first year there I moved to Oulu and continued my studies here.  

I have learned some technical skills from my previous studies that can help others for example I have been coding for a while so I can help my classmates. I usually come up with good ideas and that is big advantage in group works. 

My “best” programming project in my opinion is in programming 2 course at University of Eastern Finland. I built a calculator and there was graphical user interface built to it. At first it was challenging to code it but then I got some ideas how to execute it and it helped me. Challenging part was to do the code in classes with inheritance and I wasn’t familiar with inheritance back then. I built the project by myself, but I got some help from my teachers. Without my teachers and Google I couldn’t have done it properly. In the end I learned a lot from the project and my coding skills improved a bit although it was very frustrating at the time.  

One of my goals are speak English properly although in my opinion I'm good speaking it but sometimes I can’t find the words. I also want to improve my writing skills because I sometimes find writing difficult.
